Sunset Cinema is a free-entrance open air cinema concept based in Luxembourg.
Since 2021, we provide exceptional movie experiences for all age groups in Luxembourg’s most amazing outdoor locations.

Quick answers to common questions – so you can make the most out of your Sunset Cinema experience!
FREE ENTRANCE & SEATING
We offer free admission to all our movie nights. This is made possible thanks to our partners. Their support allows us to keep the event open and accessible to all, whether you’re young or old, a hardcore film buff or someone who has never even heard of that one infamous director everyone seems to talk about. Our doors are open to all! Seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis. For Lux-City and Esch, we have plenty of beach chairs available to rent, but these cannot be reserved in advance. Bringing your own camping chair or blanket is allowed. For our local movie nights, beach chairs are already set up in advance on site, but capacity is limited and chairs cannot be reserved.
OPENING TIMES & MOVIE START
Doors open two hours before the first movie starts. There will be pre-movie animations, concerts and snacks, among other things. The main movie is scheduled to begin after sunset. Please check our timetable for exact times. These are expected to be around 21.30 pm in July, 21.00 pm in August and 20.30 pm in September.
BAD WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS
Light rain or showers will not cancel a movie night. We will only cancel in the event of thunderstorms. We will provide instant weather updates and cancellation notices via our Instagram channel.
FOOD & DRINKS
We sell popcorn, sweet snacks, and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, most of which are local. There will also be food trucks in both Lux-City and Esch. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own picnic.
COME PREPARED
Please check the weather forecast before each movie night. While we hope for only warm summer evenings, we can’t guarantee them. Always dress accordingly and bring a jacket or sweater just in case, as temperatures can drop at night. We have blankets, sweatshirts, and ponchos available in case you get chilly!
ACCESSIBILITY & PARKING
You can find the exact addresses of our open-air cinemas in the timetable section of our website. Our sites can be reached either by bus, tram, bicycle, or by car. There is parking available nearby at all of our locations.
Pet friendliness
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at our events! Make sure you bring a bowl and water for your dog so that your lovely pets stay hydrated throughout the evening.

Last but not least and most importantly, Sunset Cinema isn’t just a movie night. Right – the movie is important, but the event is to be seen as an experience. We put a lot of effort into set-up, decorating, and animating our cozy cinema evenings with fun activities. So don’t worry about arriving a bit early; you’ll love your time with us.
