Sunset Cinema is a free-entrance open air cinema concept based in Luxembourg.
Since 2021, we provide exceptional movie experiences for all age groups in Luxembourg’s most amazing outdoor locations.
Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy blockbusters, classics, or animated films, all within an intimate and cozy setting, with fun activities before the main movie
starts.

In a new partnership with the Film Fund Luxembourg, we want to shine a spotlight on Luxembourgish short films at Sunset Cinema. 🔦 That’s why, each evening, we’ll present a specially selected 🇱🇺 short film before the feature film. Get ready to discover the stunning works that Luxembourg’s film industry has produced in recent years!

FREE ENTRANCE & SEATING
We do not sell tickets! Our movie nights are free of entrance, and seating works on a first-come, first-served basis. We have around 100 beach chairs available which can't be reserved. If you arrive late or right before the movie starts, and want to be sure of a seat. We recommend bringing your own camping chairs or blankets for comfort.
OPENING TIMES & MOVIE START
Doors open two hours before the movie starts, and there will be pre-movie animations, music, popcorn, and much more. The movie is scheduled to begin after sunset. Here are the approximate movie start times: July around 21:30, August around 21:00, September around 20:30
BAD WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS
Rain or light showers will not cancel a movie night. We will only cancel in the case of thunderstorms. Most locations have an indoor venue where the movie night can be relocated. We will provide instant weather updates and cancellation notices via our Instagram channel.
FOOD & DRINKS
At each movie night, you'll find our stand offering popcorn and sweet snacks. Our partner municipalities and their clubs are in charge of providing drinks and food options. However, at Esch-Gaalgebierg, we’ll have a special setup with a food truck and our own on-site bar. Of course, bringing your own Picnic is allowed!
COME PREPARED
Please check the weather forecast before each movie night. While we hope for only warm summer evenings, we can't guarantee it. Always dress accordingly and bring a jacket or sweater to be safe, as temperatures can drop at night. We also have around 100 blankets available.
ACCESSIBILITY & PARKING
The exact addresses of our open-air cinemas are in the timetable section on our website. All our locations have nearby parking and are wheelchair accessible. Dogs are welcome too, provided they are well-behaved.
